Sometimes the best New England travel attractions come in small packages. Such is the case with the Children’s Museum in Easton, located in historic North Easton, Mass.
Located in a modestly-sized former fire station, the Children’s Museum in Easton was formed in 1986 by Easton mothers in search of hands-on educational experiences for local children. The Museum has turned into a true success story, bringing in over 40,000 visitors yearly. The three floors are packed to the gills, featuring 100 yearly programs where kids can learn through exploration. Some great hands-on activities include climbing the fire pole, a king’s and queen’s chair, a theater stage, playhouses, a wood shop, doctor’s office, arts and crafts room, an intricate ball shoot, a fisherman’s boat, and and the outdoor “Wild Place” that features a “two-story Tree House, the secret Story Circle, the Stage, and Gazebo – site of many summertime performances.”
The cost is just right at $6.00 per person, and with discounts, at this writing, if you have a Big Y, AAA, MTA or WGBH card.
