Visiting the Cape Cod Canal Bike Trail in November breaks the old school myth that Cape Cod is only meant for summer travel.

If you can catch a good weather day at this time of the year, this free, pretty much level bike trail along the scenic Cape Cod Canal will, no doubt, extend the happy travel memories of  Cape Cod deep into the season. The paved trail is beautifully maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and is ideal for biking walking, and roller blading. Here, you can see the Sagamore Bridge in the distance and fine water views everywhere, but you also have the opportunity to get a really good workout in, traveling seven miles to the Bourne Bridge. Those bridges should tell you something else, too: you don’t have to drive far at all into the Cape to access the Cape Cod Canal Bike Trail, as these structures connect the mainland of Massachusetts with Cape Cod.

Whatever the case, it is possible to enjoy Cape Cod outdoors near the end of the year when you have destinations like the Cape Cod Canal Bike Trail!

In Sandwich, you can access the Cape Cod Bike Trail at Ed Moffitt Dr. near the Sandwich Coast Guard Station and Sandwich Marina
