Not too long ago, VisitMaine tipped us on the legendary Christmas Prelude in Kennebunkport, Maine, and now shares with us two more very worthwhile Christmas holiday events…
With snow-capped Mt. Katahdin as the scenic backdrop, Christmas in Katahdin will take place Dec. 2-3, in Millinocket. Christmas in Katahdin will feature a Main Street parade, fireworks, a town Christmas party at the high school with food, music, games and activities for children, photos with Santa Claus, a bonfire, and specials at local shops and restaurants.
The 25th Annual Harbor Lights Festival is scheduled in beautiful coastal Boothbay Harbor (Mid Coast Maine), Dec. 2-4. Highlights will include a parade of lighted fishing boats and pleasure boats, horse-drawn wagon rides, a craft fair, the lighting of the town Christmas tree, roving carolers and a living nativity scene.
