The Maine Office of Tourism recently wrote us about the recently launched web site, GoAroostook.com, that serves as a resource for finding four seasons of fun outdoor activities in northernmost Maine. Information includes paddling, dog sledding, mountain and road biking, snowshoeing and hiking, as well as visitor resources and related events. A great added feature of the web site is a trails database is sortable by activity, as well as a community forum allows that users to connect with other outdoor enthusiasts.
We browsed some of the Aroostook web site today, and it looks fabulous — the photos and info made us want to go there. Now, that’s the sign of a great web site! It’s nice, too, that so many of these activities are free or low-cost.
