Quahog to Predict Number of Cape Cod Beach Days, June 20!

Marci Tyldesley, of Regan Communications, just tipped us on a Cape Cod event that we think you will “dig”: the 4th annual Cape Cod Quahog Day on Wednesday, June 20.
Hosted by the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, Quahog Day features the Cape’s official Quahog “Doug” and his sidekick “Johnny Quahog.” Their mission is to address the very important question, “How many beach days lie ahead on the Cape this summer?” Hopefully, their answer won’t be “underwater!”
New England Cable News meteorologist Nelly Carreno will join Doug, Johnny Quahog and a host of others for this free event, starting at 2 p.m. At that time, the Quahog security team will escort Doug to a beachfront stage in front of The Skipper Restaurant in Yarmouth. Speaking his “secret bi-valve language,” Doug will whisper his official “Quahog Prognostication” to Johnny Quahog. Johnny will translate the prediction to the audience. Last year, Doug forecast 12 weeks and one day of sunshine. Hopefully, it will be the same, or even better for this year!
After the ceremony, guests are invited for refreshments and music to celebrate the summer kickoff! The Skipper Restaurant is located at 152 South Shore Dr. in Yarmouth. For more info, visit www.quahogday.com or contact the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce at (508) 362-3225, ext. 531.
