The Field of Flags, annually held in November, at the Town Green in East Bridgewater, Mass., pays tribute to our U.S. Military veterans in spectacular fashion.

One thousand flags grace the historic Town Green throughout the day and into the illuminated scene at night. Juxtaposed with a military dedication monument and historic bandstand, the whole scene makes one proud to live in New England on many levels.

The Kiwanis Club of East Bridgewater, Mass., sponsored a dedication of the Field of Flags display on Nov. 3, 2018. The display runs through Nov. 17 — if in the area, be sure to park the car and walk the field to get the full impact.

Money raised through sponsoring a flag goes to East Bridgewater Kiwanis charities and The Fisher House in Boston, “a home away from home where our military families can stay while a loved one is receiving in-house treatment at one of our medical centers,” according to The Fisher House Web Site.

Kudos to those who donated and laid out the flags and setting up the overall event. You, as a close-knit caring community, have expressed a tremendous show of respect to our brave men and women Soldiers who have protected our freedoms then, now and in the future.
