Dining Review

Conrad's in Norwood, MA, Specializes in "Neighborhood" Dining
by Eric H.

The "interest rate" has never been higher at this  former bank location in downtown Norwood, MA,, given Conrad's popularity as a classic neighborhood restaurant.

Unlike some other neighborhood restaurants that build their restaurant around a bar, Conrad's has paid close attention to its layout by prioritizing every aspect of a local restaurant: a lobby area, comfortable dining rooms with booths and tables, a handsome, large bar section, and some well-prepared seafood, steak and chicken dishes. Add some great Italian-style bar pizza ("meat lovers" selection is incredible), salads that aren't just iceberg, Italian specialties, soups, wraps, and traditional sandwiches and you've got a restaurant that appeals to everyone. Judging from the crowds, it does seem like virtually every local person eats here -- to the point where Conrad's is a household name in this area.

Recommended dishes: the marinated steak and turkey tips that are done "just right," broiled lemon pepper haddock, and the breaded Chicken Govoni with Chicken topped with spinach, roasted peppers, prosciutto, marinara sauce and cheese served over ziti or linguine.

Conrad's represents the best of neighborhood dining, and is a welcome addition to Norwood's growing small-town, downtown scene with nice local shops, and a beautiful town common. We recommend Conrad's as a first-line choice for those in search of quality neighborhood restaurants above the norm in the southwest suburbs of Boston.  You can "bank" on that!

Conrad's, 728 Washington St., Norwood, MA. Tel. (781) 769-3883
