Rossi's Restaurant Reopens in Millis, MA

Rossi's Restaurant

One day not too long ago, Rossi's restaurant in Millis, MA, closed its doors, seemingly, forever. Local residents, including some at Millis Town Hall and the local Chamber of Commerce (in nearby Milford), were not clued in on why this charming restaurant located in a stately Victorian home left tiny, friendly Millis and other surrounding small towns. It left many of us considering looking for the number to Lucinda Bassett's Midwest Center for Stress and Anxiety, given that Rossi's brought such dining comfort and joy in such a unique setting to an area not exactly booming with special-night-out restaurants.

Happily, Rossi's has reopened with the original owners bringing their expertise of serving American regional cuisine with European influences. We look forward returning to eating at the nine elegantly appointed dining rooms that boast original tile fireplaces and rich mahogany paneling, as well as our favorite dish of all time -- seafood All' Apassionata, with fresh linguine sauteed with lobster, shrimp and scallops, tossed with bacon, plum tomatoes, garlic, butter and ripe olives. Rossi's also serves a global variety of wines from lesser known vineyards.

Rossi's had been, for a long time, our special night out, given its Victorian setting and its penchant for serving food every bit as good as any Boston restaurants specializing in this type of cuisine. We look forward to returning to this western suburban Boston dining gem!

Rossi's Restaurant, 270 Exchange St., Millis, MA. Tel. (508) 376-1004.
