Hale Reservation seems a million miles away from everything, making it seem unlikely to be in a town two communities away from the Boston city line. (photo by Eric H.)

Hale Reservation, Westwood, Mass.

by Eric H.

Westwood, regarded as one of the best places to live in the United States by CNN, features the 1,250 acre Hale Reservation, located just off Route 109 near the town center. Hale is secluded, but safe -- a popular camp area in the summer and a foliage strolling destination in the fall. Hale Reservation features clean bodies of water with surrounding hiking trails, a great waterfall and beautiful forestry. It is a popular couting destination, as well as a place to walk the dog (be careful where you walk at Hale).
