This is a great time to visit Long Sands Beach on Route 1A in York Beach, Maine. Catch a nice, spring day and you’ll be able to walk this long, stretch of sandy Maine beach without the summer crowds. You can access the beach by foot for free and, at this writing, the parking meters aren’t up yet. So, it’s truly free accessing the beach! Additionally, don’t forget to visit Nubble Lighthouse a little over a mile from Long Sands Beach. It is one of Maine’s most beautiful lighthouses, located in Sohier Park. There’s plenty of  free parking and plenty of benches to view this wonderful destination.
