Looking Glass Cafe, Wrentham, Mass., Goes Beyond Affordable Diner Food

Looking Glass Cafe, Wrentham, Mass.

The Looking Glass Cafe in Wrentham, Mass., reflects well upon affordable, customer service-oriented diners.

Here’s why: on Sunday, I took a nice drive to have some lunch at the Looking Glass. The problem was, they only served breakfast that day.

Right out of the textbook of “Great Restaurant Customer Service,” the waitress said without hesitation, “We don’t serve lunch on Sundays, but that’s OK, we can make you some lunch. It’s really not a problem at all. Just let me know what you want.”

The turkey wrap with fresh turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere warm and friendly, and the prices nice — with menu items under or well under $10.

Folks, this is a sign of a restaurant that clearly cares about its customers. Not only with me at that given moment, but the regulars that I saw come into to dine on some affordable, diner-like food. The staff knows the customers and vice versa. For outsiders like me, I felt like part of the family. I’ve made the same Sunday mistake before at other restaurants and sometimes spoken to like some kind of goof ball not knowing the restaurant menu protocol on that day.

The Looking Glass Cafe has my business because sometimes you need something that goes beyond good, affordably-priced food. That, my friends, is good customer service!

It was nice to have a meal at the counter served quickly by a pleasant waitress, hear the conversations going on, return home with a content stomach, and gain hope for a more customer-service oriented world.  I highly recommend The Looking Glass Cafe as a sunny, friendly breakfast and lunch spot if you’re in the area– and just a five minute ride from the famous Wrentham Outlets!
