Maine is a “good catch” for fishing and The Maine Office of Tourism just tipped us on some of those great spots to cast a line…
Fish from a canoe or boat, a guided drift boat or by wading at the upper Androscoggin River, from Gilead to Bethel — home to rainbow and brown trouts… Fly casting is the only type of fishing allowed on The Kennebago River, running into Cupsuptic Lake in the tiny village of Oquossoc, is know for its landlocked salmon and brook trout that are often pulled from the river’s long, flat pools… The Penobscot River, between Lincoln and Old Town, is known for its small-mouth bass, some as large as 15-inches! This stretch also features, every few miles, public boat ramps and carry sites.
