Five Dollars Spent To Visit A Classic Maine Beach

When visiting York Beach, Maine, we park in a lot where the owners only charge

$5.00 for a weekend day. A five-minute walk will lead you to Short Sands Beach, a lovely Maine ocean beach with free by-foot access, plenty of sand, chilly waves, a quintessential rocky coast and enough nearby attractions even for the most active vacationer.

Traveling north on Route 1A, drive past Long Sands Beach (also in York Beach). Less than a quarter mile on the right is a white house with a “Parking $5.00” sign out front.  We have never had a problem finding parking on Sundays, en route to our favorite Maine beach.

No guarantees on parking availability or whether the price will change, but thought you would like to know of this cheap parking lot that we have used for many years on the weekend.
