Saving Lodging Money In Vermont For The Fall Season

Share this New England story on

If you don’t feel like paying those high fall seasonal lodging rates during the Vermont fall foliage season, we recommend checking out the dirt cheap Motel 6 in Colchester, Vt. (just outside Burlington, Vt.).

As an example, we just checked out booking a room for two adults during the 2010 Columbus Day Weekend, and came up with an $85.00 a night rate (with a queen bed). You could pay twice the price — or a lot more– for lodging in the area at many hotels, motels and inns.

Colchester is beautifully located on Lake Champlain and is a quiet, small, and scenic community. Additionally, Colchester is only 13 miles to Burlington, the largest city in Vermont, and home of the University of Vermont.  Burlington is one of New England’s most appealing cities with a great mix of Lake Champlain scenery, dining, shopping and myriad cultural and recreational opportunities.

If you’re committed to saving money for your New England travel, we recommend checking out the
BURLINGTON – COLCHESTER, VT Motel 6
. You have access to all the wonderful fall foliage colors, events, attractions and classic Vermont mountains and lakes scenery (check out the Lake Champlain Islands!) that people pay more for at other area hotels.  If you decide to book with Motel 6, let us know how your experience was at this very affordable motel!

Editor’s note: Motel 6 is a national chain, perhaps best known for its advertisements with the salt-of-the-earth, plain-talking Tom Beaudett as its spokesperson!
