How to Enjoy the Vermont Maple Sugaring Season in 2016

One of the best ways to get an authentic taste of spring in Vermont is to visit maple sugar houses, as well as restaurants and local events where you can watch maple syrup being produced. Here is a sample of traditionally memorable Vermont maple sugaring experiences, surely not to be missed in 2016…

The Vermont Maple Sugar Makers Association holds an annual Open House Weekend the first weekend in April where locals and travelers visit Vermont sugar houses and restaurants to watch maple being being made. The 2016 Open House Weekend takes place April 2-3. Log onto the Maple Sugar Makers Association web site to keep up to date on details of the events.

The Vermont Maple Festival is held annually in St. Albans. The 2016 event is scheduled for April 22-24 and features myriad events including maple syrup tasting, sugar house tours, a pancake breakfast and BBQ dinner, a craft and specialty foods show, maple beverage tasting, a maple exhibit hall and store, a parade, entertainment, races, and much more. The Vermont Maple Festival is not only a fun time, but also serves as one-stop shopping for maple products within a very nice, classic small Vermont town!
