It’s hard to believe but weekend New England holiday festivals as well as tree lighting ceremonies are not that far away. A great way to take in the spirit of the New England holiday season, these often affordable events (some are free!) are a great way to celebrate at a town common, white steepled church or other classic New England setting. We”ll be featuring many of these events at The Thrifty New England Traveler from now until Christmas.
Our great neighbors at VisitMaine recently sent us information on a coastal celebration with a twist…
Santa Claus will be arriving by boat during Camden’s Christmas by the Sea celebration happening Dec. 3-5. The weekend event features live music and entertainers, a parade, tree-lighting ceremony, Holiday House Inn Tour, and retail and dining specials.
For those of you not familiar with Camden, this is one of New England’s most beautiful coastal communities. The scenic water views, wonderful idyllic small town vibe, a lively arts scene, and a plethora of appealing-looking shops, restaurants and inns help make Camden a prime contender for your Maine vacation!
