Swan Boats of Boston

A 15-minute Swan Boats of Boston ride through the Public Gardens area in Boston, Mass., is a wonderful low-cost spring and summer travel attraction that has taken on a legendary and beloved status for residents and visitors.

The timeless joy of riding on a boat with plastic but rather charming-looking large swans while viewing the lush, green 24-acre Public Garden makes for a classic Boston family tourist destination. The boat rides date back to 1877, have a one-of-a-kind look, and are still operated by pedal power!

Good news for 2023 Boston travel: The Swan Boats of Boston returns for the season from April 15 to June 20, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and June 21 to Labor Day Weekend, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (seven days a week, weather permitting). Ticket prices: Adults, $4.50; children, $3.00 (ages two to 15 years); under two-years-old, free; seniors $4.00

After taking a Swan Boat ride, the great experience continues at the Boston Public Garden as it is a virtual oasis (and walker’s delight) with its fountains, flower beds and trees. It’s a beautiful area and free to walk around.

We recommend calling ahead at 617-522-1966 to ensure weather conditions have not postponed the Swan Boats Rides.

Spectacular Boston views can be seen during a Swan Boats of Boston ride.
