Million Dollar Views At Low-Cost Pack Monadnock Summit, Peterborough, N.H.

The views look mighty good atop the summit of 2,290-foot Pack Monadnock Mountain at Miller State Park (you can either drive or walk it) on Route 101 E in Peterborough, N.H.

The panoramic views, include the 3,165 feet high Mt. Monadnock Mountain and on clear days, sightings of Mt. Washington, the Boston skyline and Vermont hills! Hiking opportunities abound here, including the Wapack Trail, a 21-mile footpath that extends from Mt. Watatic in Ashburnham, Mass. to North Pack Monadnock in Greenfield, N.H.

The summit is open on summer days and fall and spring weekends. It’s especially beautiful here during the fall foliage season, traditionally best around mid-October. The price of admission? A reasonable $4 for adults; $2 for children ages 6-11; children ages 5 and under and New Hampshire residents age 65 and over are admitted free.
