Love a beautiful sunset? You should check out Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge in Middletown, R.I.
Located on 242-acres, this glorious expression of Mother Nature’s scenic beauty never fails to amaze. Sunsets surely provide one of the main draws of the area. Find some space, walk one of the many paths and revel in the peace, solitude and brilliant colors in the sky. The location on a peninsula between the Sakonnet River and Rhode Island Sound provides this magnificent setting.
For a small state, Rhode Island sure pleases big-time when the sun goes down. I can’t think of a better place to see the sunset than Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge.
Plus, sunsets are not only freeing in spirit but free to see.
Editor’s note: While in the area, be sure to check out The Cliff Walk in Newport. It’s equally beautiful! For local seafood dining with water views, I recommend taking a nice coastal drive to The Coast Guard House.
