If you’re looking for a “cheap eats” breakfast and lunch place on Cape Cod, we believe that Grumpy’s Restaurant in East Dennis, Mass., will make you happy.<\/p>\n

This is the ultimate “home style” cooking place where the no frills atmosphere is warm, the wait staff friendly, and the very good food served in big portions. Meals generally stay under $10.00. While you’ll find all familiar roadside breakfast and lunch items like omelettes, pancakes, waffles, hot dogs, burgers, meat loaf, mac and cheese, tuna melts, monte christos and salads, you’ll also find a nice selection of seafood. It is, after all, Cape Cod! \u00a0Crab cakes, fish cakes, \u00a0seafood platters, scallop rolls and broiled fish sandwiches are a few of the items you might find on the daily blackboard specials. \u00a0We didn’t have room last time for Grumpy’s homemade desserts, but do try to save room for delicious-looking sweets like Grape Nut custard and blueberry bread pudding!<\/p>\n

The long, plain one-floor, carpeted dining room is nothing fancy, but there’s a very nice light and breezy feel to the place — kind of a reflection of Cape Cod, itself. Located on the scenic, less commercial Route 6A, it’s the perfect stop en route to scenes of \u00a0salt marshes, harbors, ocean beaches, quaint historic bed and breakfasts and inns, open land and unpretentious mom and pop shops.<\/p>\n

I think we have all been to places on the Cape that are too touristy and a general rip-off. We know how important it is for you to enjoy dining out on your Cape Cod vacation and it can be a real downer when a sub par place interrupts your enjoyable vacation. Grumpy’s Restaurant\u00a0is not one of those restaurants. Grumpy’s feels just right — comfortable, friendly and with very good food. We highly recommend it for your taste buds, wallet and overall Cape Cod vacation experience.<\/p>\n
