If you’re looking for a fun, family-oriented cheap summer activity around the Boston area, we think that the Norwood Sport Center candlepin bowling alley in Norwood, Mass., will “strike” a positive chord with you.<\/p>\n
For just $3 a string, this no-frills but clean and up-to-date bowling alley is a local favorite during the summer. It’s air-conditioned, has a friendly staff, and the scoring is punched into the keyboards with a monitor above showing your scores. So, although the Norwood Sport Center seems like a place out of the 60s, there’s no need to pencil in your scores on paper. They also offer bumpers for kids and really lousy adult bowlers.<\/p>\n
The front of the building — with its faded brick and plain sign — looks like it was hit too many times by the ugly stick. Once you’re inside, however, there’s a nice, welcoming old-school feel to the place. The price is certainly old-school, too, as many other bowling areas charge at least twice the price.<\/p>\n
Other than some video games and snack machines, the Norwood Sport Center is strictly a bowling alley. If you like to bowl and save money, this is definitely the place for you!<\/p>\n
