Credit: Maine Department of Conservation<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Just got word from Maine Department of Conservation (MDOC) via VisitMaine.com that more Maine fall foliage colors are showing across northern Maine.<\/p>\n<p>The MDOC fall foliage report has\u00a0Maine Forest Service and state park rangers &#8220;observing low leaf color, or 10 to 30 percent toward peak, along with very low leaf drop in all of Aroostook County and northern portions of Piscataquis and Somerset counties&#8230;.\u00a0Rangers believe that some sections of Aroostook County will see moderate color, or 30 to 50 percent toward peak, by this weekend.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The foliage colors and leaf drop in the rest of Maine are quite low &#8212; less than 10 percent, according to the MDOC\u00a0report.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Fall colors are starting to show along mountain ridges in Aroostook County,&#8221; said Scott Thompson, park ranger at Aroostook State Park near Presque Isle. &#8220;Species of bright reds, orange and golds are mixed into a fading hue of mixed greens.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Log onto to <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.visitmaine.com\">VisitMaine.com<\/a> or call the Maine Office of Tourism at 1-888-624-6345 for more info about fall activities and events in Maine. \u00a0For fall foliage updates in Maine, log onto\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mainefoliage.com\">www.mainefoliage.com<\/a>.
