Maine has its fair share of these type of events, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.VisitMaine.com\">VisitMaine.com<\/a> has just tipped us on some of these classic festivals. Up in Lubec, the\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/r20.rs6.net\/tn.jsp?llr=ztdtrzbab&amp;et=1107750917418&amp;s=705&amp;e=001XkmYgy7IDXxon-hMz_j7d1vLxcHoAy_NtBUt4sfvOSQl7km5oQNbvw5k0hQIMYthPjFzWBKjBjtOAS4Y22sjXTI3AtFDFoRsfBiLZMPFafErLyK_rJbFdYbKIWw5xsYUQp9kW-mwmgo=\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Lubec Harvest Howl<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>will take place on Oct. 8 and will feature a a street fair with craft and food vendors, hay rides, activities for children, a pumpkin decorating and carving contest, live music, a public breakfast, and pumpkin pie eating and howling contests&#8230;A <strong>Fall Festival at <\/strong><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/r20.rs6.net\/tn.jsp?llr=ztdtrzbab&amp;et=1107750917418&amp;s=705&amp;e=001XkmYgy7IDXwP3DRq3mvkCfZ8KmR27v0Uc1BcXr5VL_sncKOCHip_AIAkFjNzCYsZSmyFAxbSr3qyPg8x0J8HNGj2-MulZ3rxP6euAsbcHRQoi5gvjaxQ2iEyzZy9lI1kNAz2l7a_vtaksholhFK8iDc6-S0khuftIRjoAoqJPBjF2YWyQpfqbg==\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Wolfe&#8217;s Neck Farm<\/strong><\/a><strong> in Freeport<\/strong> is scheduled for Oct. 15. Amongst the activities will be hay climbing, horse team demonstrations, pumpkin decorating and seed saving demonstrations, as well as hay rides to the pumpkin patch, live music and hot food&#8230;If you like pumpkins and you like bowling, then head on over to the <strong>Waterville Harvest Fest &#8212; where pumpkins become bowling balls!<\/strong> The festival takes place \u00a0Oct. 15-16 in the city&#8217;s downtown district. Also on the agenda is scarecrow making, candy apple making, pony rides, apple pie and dessert baking contests, and activities for children&#8230; The accent is on apples at <strong><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/mofga.org\/Default.aspx?tabid=294\">Great Maine Apple Day<\/a><\/strong>, Oct. 23, at the Common Ground Education Center in Unity.
