Revere Beach, Mass., is\u00a0not exactly Aruba, but it’s hard to beat the convenience of this this lively oceanside destination\u00a0near Boston.<\/p>\n

Facing Massachusetts Bay, just five miles north of Boston, Revere Beach has been a favorite, cheap day trip destination for more than 100 years. Revere Beach\u00a0was more of a famous New England resort destination in the past with amusements and dance halls, but today the three-mile beach is the main draw with a few famous “cheap eats” food attractions: Kelly’s Roast Beef (picture to the left), noted for its roast beef, fried clam plates and lobster rolls, and Bianchi’s for its amazing slices of authentic Italian pizza.<\/p>\n

Not too long ago, Revere Beach was designated a National Landmark, as it is arguably the first public beach in America.<\/p>\n

From Boston, you can take the MBTA Blue Line to the Revere Beach stop, or just take your car and park alongside the great stretch of beach. Although crowded during the peak of summer, there always seems to be a spot on the sandy beach. From late June to September, lifeguards are on duty and there are changing rooms and concessions, as well as a bandstand for summer concerts. Just pay a nominal fee in the parking meter and take advantage of free foot access to the beach.<\/p>\n

Enjoy this famous, populist beach as part of your Boston vacation or as a local looking for an affordable day trip!<\/p>\n
