Apples and apple cider are food and drink staples of the New England fall season (and beyond), but let’s not forget about apple cider doughnuts. They are incredibly tasty, filling and don’t cost too much dough. Sorry for that pun.<\/p>\n

A growing number of farm stands, bakeries, doughnut shops (makes sense to me!) and even supermarkets (not always a pretty picture) in New England feature apple cider doughnuts, especially in the fall. The trick to making a great apple cider doughnut is infusing the right amount of fresh apple cider into the batter. Some throw some extra cinnamon and other spices into the mix for an additional kick. When it’s done right — baked or fried — apple cider doughnuts require multiple servings. It’s almost impossible to eat just one!<\/p>\n
