The list focuses on recommended pizzas at each pizza place.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to the aforementioned Frank Pepe&#8217;s for finishing first in the entire country!<\/p>\n<p>We can personally vouch for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitingnewengland.com\/Pizzeria-Regina-Pizza-North-End-Boston.html\">Regina Pizzeria<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitingnewengland.com\/santarpios.html\">Santarpio&#8217;s<\/a> &#8212; the former serving superb brick-oven Italian pizza (since 1926!) and the latter with its chewy crust, soupy-in-the-middle, slightly charred Italian-style pizza (since 1903!).<\/p>\n<p>Though The Daily Meal sincerely writes, &#8220;There are too many great places that deserve consideration and mention,&#8221; it is too bad they didn&#8217;t include Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont pizzerias on the list. With that said, we&#8217;ll chime in a little here using our New England travel memories a little bit to share with you some truly great pizza places in those states. Rosalie&#8217;s (open May to October) at 46 Cottage St. in Bar Harbor, Maine, makes its thin and double crusts pizzas, stuffed pizzas and calzones from scratch and the results are phenomenal. It&#8217;s a fun, lively place, too, with a Wurlitzer jukebox playing songs on vinyl 45s. In New Hampshire, Vinny&#8217;s Pizzaria, at 200 Main St. in Concord, turns out old school Italian pizza with a fabulous full bodied flavor within a traditional, no frills setting. While my pizza experiences are limited in Vermont, I recall some phenomenal wood-fired, hand-tossed pizza many years ago from Pie in the Sky at 492 Mountain Rd. in Stowe. A few friends have told me that the quality there is still amazing!<\/p>\n<p>What do you think of The Daily Meal&#8217;s choice, as well as ours?
