Kennedy Greenway in Boston, Mass., opened to the public in the summer of 2013 but has already become a major family travel attraction.<\/p>\n<p>Located within the Greenway&#8217;s wonderful mile and a half of contiguous parks (what a change from the former pockets of blight in this area!), the 36-seat Greenway Carousel features 14 different characters native to Massachusetts, including a whale, cod, fox, grasshopper, harbor seal and butterflies. Lending an additional special quality to the Carousel is that Boston school children inspired these characters through their own drawings. What&#8217;s more, the Tiffany &amp; Co. Foundation Grove surrounds the carousel with impressive plantings, myriad seating and much-welcomed shade, especially in the summertime. It&#8217;s such a nice place to be during the summer and within walkable distance to world famous <a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitingnewengland.com\/fanueil-hall.html\" target=\"_blank\">Faneuil Hall<\/a> and all that yummy <a href=\"http:\/\/newenglandtravelnews.blogspot.com\/2015\/01\/my-favorite-north-end-of-boston-food.html\" target=\"_blank\">Italian food in the North of of Boston<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are affordable: $3 per ride or $25 for a pack of 10, at this writing.
