It’s hard to believe but weekend New England holiday festivals as well as tree lighting ceremonies are not that far away. A great way to take in the spirit of the New England holiday season, these often affordable events (some are free!) are a great way to celebrate at a town common, white steepled church or other classic New England setting. We”ll be featuring many of these events at The Thrifty New England Traveler from now until Christmas.<\/p>\n

Santa Claus<\/strong> will be arriving by boat during Camden’s <\/em>Christmas by the Sea<\/em><\/a> celebration happening\u00a0Dec. 3-5. The weekend event features live music and entertainers, a parade, tree-lighting ceremony,\u00a0Holiday House\u00a0Inn Tour, and retail and dining specials. <\/em><\/p>\n

For those of you not familiar with Camden, this is one of New England’s most beautiful coastal communities.
