\"This<\/a>Looking for affordable Vermont destinations, but not sure they exist?\u00a0 No worries, I have found you some solutions.<\/p>\n

Sure, the the most popular Vermont destinations can get rather pricey, especially during peak vacation seasons.\u00a0Fall and summer seem most notorious for that, as many inns and resorts have gone “upscale” to please a sector of the New York City and Boston crowds. If you would rather forgo the spa treatments, golf courses and gourmet dining at an inn or resort to save some money, however, you’re in luck.\u00a0Many inns, hotels and motels in the Londonderry, Weston, area still offer the basics at affordable\u00a0prices for all seasons.<\/p>\n

Tucked away in the Green Mountains of southern Vermont, Weston and Londonderry have plenty of village charm. The area is delightfully what you would expect out of small-town Vermont. All walks of life come here, including many family travelers looking for\u00a0a wholesome destination that takes one back to another place and time. I remember Weston in the 1970s and it really hasn’t changed all that much. That’s a good thing for those in search of the more quiet, retro side of travel, in addition to being affordable Vermont destinations.<\/p>\n

We recently stayed at the Snowdon Chalet<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0at a reasonable rate. What we got in return: a clean room with comfortable beds, a private bath, free WiFi, in-room refrigerator and microwave oven, a free\u00a0breakfast, BBQ grill, and covered patio area with tables and chairs. Nothing fancy, but a great foundation to exploring the area without breaking the bank.<\/p>\n

Plus, it’s so rare to find in Vermont an affordable high quality motel with a caring onsite owner. Have you noticed how upscale so many of the lodging destinations have become. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather save money at a good motel and use the extra funds to explore the region. Or, just return home with some extra cash. Nice that the Snowdon Chalet respects the pocketbook of vacationers.\u00a0 The owner, Jen, is so genuine and authentic and really loves to cater to guests.<\/p>\n

The Londonderry, Weston area offer\u00a0proximity to some of Vermont’s most scenic areas and fun \u00a0attractions. Some highlights, in general; the legendary\u00a0Vermont Country Store and Weston Village Store<\/a><\/strong>, the Weston Priory (a community of Benedictine monks offering mass and prayer time) and a nice mix of Vermont artisans, museums and antiques, as well as “world class theater” at the Weston Playhouse.<\/p>\n

Also, Magic Mountain in Londonderry is a terrific low-key winter destination featuring downhill skiing, riding and tubing terrain. The\u00a0Bromley, Stratton and Okemo ski areas — all major northeast USA ski destinations — are nearby, too.<\/p>\n
