New England offers an endless supply of fall eye candy, and one of my favorite scenes is the Annual Pumpkin Patch held every October at the Epiphany Church in downtown Walpole, Mass. Hundreds of pumpkins dot the church grounds, surrounded by a classic New England downtown scene with town green, church, historic buildings and gazebo.  The pumpkins are consigned from a Navajo reservation in Famington, N.M., and helps more than 1,000 Native Americans employed for this project in New Mexico.

At the Pumpkin Patch, we are talking a suburban Boston location here — not somewhere in the heart of New Hampshire or Vermont foliage country! Just goes to show that quintessential New England expresses itself in places you wouldn’t expect, thus proving that something special is always at your doorstep on the six-state region.
