Where is the FarmCoast?

Westport Town Farm in Westport, Mass., a beautiful spot at the FarmCoast.

The FarmCoast spans from Tiverton and Little Compton. R.I. to Westport and Dartmouth, Mass. The crystal clear coastal waters combine with rolling meadows, stone walls and ancient barns to create this beautiful New England wonderland — like something out of a storybook.  It’s an ideal place to take a walk by the water at publicly accessible spaces in the form of beaches and farmland.

Don’t let the sparsely populated lands fool you, however. There’s plenty to do here — it’s just that things are spread out and often hidden. If you look long and hard enough at the FarmCoast, you’ll find unique places to shop and restaurants that specialize in fresh local seafood, as well as vineyards and farmstands.

Historic Tiverton Four Corners reigns at the “hub” of the area with the landmark Gray’s Ice Cream stand, Provender Gourmet Food Shop housed in an 1876 Victorian home and a few galleries, boutiques and locally-owned shops. Little Compton could give Tiverton Four Corners a run for the money, however, with its town center pretty much consisting of Wilbur’s General Store (more than 100-years old) and the Commons Lunch which specializes in the locally famous johnnycakes ((sweetened cornmeal flatbreads).

*The seasonal Evelyn’s Drive-in in Tiverton with its water views, lobster, quahogs, fried seafood and specialty dishes like lobster chow mein

Ultimately, the FarmCoast truly shines with its appealing mix of farms and coast. It’s truly a vastly underrated region!

The FarmCoast is conveniently located, also, within an hour from Boston, Mass. and Cape Cod and about 20-30 minutes from Newport and Providence, R.I.
