The other day, I had a craving.
No, not for pizza, ice cream, a burger or lobster roll but for the Motif Number One Red Fish Shack in Rockport, Mass.
This craving called for a taste of authentic New England. Motif Number One more than satisfied that hunger for the authentic side of New England that we so much love.
The Red Fish Shack provides all the vital nutrients that lend such a unique flavor to New England. The weathered look of a fish shack by a picturesque harbor in a quaint coastal town indeed never gets old no matter how ancient the scene.

Students of art and history might know this replica of a former fishing shack as one of the most painted buildings in America. The rest of us consume this special destination with our eyes — the visual makes for an unforgettable New England scene. Hunger satisfied!
Motif Number One is located at Bradley Wharf in downtown Rockport in beautiful Cape Ann (about an hour north of Boston). For more information on Motif Number One and Rockport, in general, log onto the Visit Rockport page.
Do you also have a craving for fried clams? if so, Woodman’s of Essex is a short drive from Motif Number One. It is the birthplace of the fried clam! They also specialize in other great local, fresh seafood.
