The outdoor Lobster Shanty restaurant sign in Salem MA stated, “Warm Beer, Lousy Food, Surly Waitresses, Rude Bartenders, Cranky Cooks…” so, naturally, we, as hardy New England natives, decided to give it a try.
What we found was a friendly little lobster, seafood shack dining spot with friendly staff, efficient service and delicious New England clam chowder and mussels. We can hardly wait next time to try the specialties of the house, lobster and lobster rolls — and also to dine outside at this seasonal restaurant on a warm summer day.
