1. The free-of-charge parking lot is so close to the lighthouse, allowing for spectacular views and great photo opportunities.

\n4. Enjoying the moon beaming down on the ocean water forces one to relax and reflect.

\n11. Dunne’s Ice Cream offers some of the best homemade ice cream in the area. It’s about a five-minute walk from Nubble Lighthouse.

\n17. Nubble Lighthouse is within walking distance of two major ocean beaches in Maine — Long Sands Beach<\/a> and Short Sands Beach<\/a>. I’d say it’s about a 25-minute walk to each, as well as downtown York Beach with its shops and York Wild Kingdom with its amusements and zoo.
\n18 Seeing the scuba divers and fishermen dotting the perimeter of the area.
\n19.Keeping your eyes open for great black-backed gulls, herring gulls, double-crested cormorants, sun fish and harbor seals!
