Yes, there are fancier meals in the Cooperstown area but this one never fails to hit the spot. The pot roast is plentiful, tender and flavorful. The blueberry pie tastes homemade (it is) like it just came out of that proverbial grandma’s oven. The apple cider slush adds texture to plain apple cider as well as refreshing relief from the heat on a hot summer day.<\/p>\n

Delicious meals like this are an extension of the wonderful feeling of being at the Fly Creek Cider Mill. This third-generation historic water-powered mill features an extensive marketplace, winery, bakery and snack area, gift shop\u00a0and a learning center to view the cider-making process.<\/p>\n

The fresh sweet cider is the best we’ve ever tasted in the northeast United States, and we’ve tried quite a few. The homemade fudge, local aged cheddar cheese and various specialty foods (jams, salsa, salad dressings, marinades, etc) follow suit with memorable tastes. Additionally, the back deck overlooking Fly Creek is so picturesque and fun — kids of all ages love to feed the ducks densely populating the creek.<\/p>\n

I absolutely love the National Baseball Hall of Fame, The Farmers’ Museum and Fenimore Art Museum but the place that personally makes me most happy is the Fly Creek Cider Mill. So warm, inviting and delicious here — it’s like the happy gene of the universe that happens to be situated in Fly Creek!<\/p>\n
