\nWelcome to Long Sands Beach in York Beach, Maine. This spectacular mile of white sandy beach is a favorite of families, surfers, sunbathers and those who love those proverbial long walks on the beach. Like the rest of coastal Maine, the water can be chilly but, for many just fine in the summer. For convenience, there is a bathhouse and restrooms about halfway down the beach. Another benefit: cross the street and you’ll find many restaurants and places to stay<\/a>.\u00a0 Although summer brings in the most visitors, many equally enjoy a nice fall, winter or spring day where visitors pretty much have the beach to themselves (as pictured here on a\u00a0 60 degree March day). Truly a special Maine scene!<\/p>\n
