Located north of Boston, Mass. where the Merrimack River meets the Atlantic Ocean, this small coastal city is bathed in historic Federalist architecture and features brick buildings housing myriad appealing local shops and restaurants, as well as some charming places to stay<\/a>. The brick sidewalks not only offer added old New England charm but also pave the way for an extremely walkable community.<\/p>\n

Interesting that this historic seaport doesn’t get the crazy crowds that other New England tourist destinations experience during the summer. That works to your advantage!<\/p>\n
