R.I., Hotels are booking Virtual Tours on Google Virtual Tours - Inside Street Views, a new
technology that features plenty of amenities for businesses and their
potential customers.
Hotels like The Langham Hotel Boston, Homewood Suites by Hilton in
Arlington,
Mass.(right outside
Boston), and the Hotel
Providence have signed onto this new program,
which brings the popular Google Street View inside businesses. With
stunning 360
virtual tours that show up on Google Maps and in Google search results
-- and can be placed on a company's web site or social media -- -- the
feeling, in this case, is like being at those hotels.
For the hotel, this means potentially greater visibility and for the
customer, it means connecting to a hotel unlike ever before
online.
"I do think it's helping quite a bit," said Luisa Lawrence-Riseman, director of sales at the Homewood Suites by Hilton/ Boston/Cambridge-Arlington. "It was quick and painless to have it done and not that expensive. It's easy to tell people to go onto our web site and once logging on, being able to just walk through the hotel like you're actually there. We also tell customers to just 'Google' us and we'll come up in the (search and Google Maps) results. I like it very much."
