Discovering a Hidden Part of Downtown Concord Mass.
Concord, Mass., is well-known for its "must-see" historical attractions like the Old North Bridge, Walden Pond and the Orchard House. Step aside from the most popular Concord destinations, however, and you'll find things that might not show up in your travel planning apps or guides. Case in point: an alleyway in downtown Concord, graced with wooden benches, flower beds and a narrow walkway framed by the sides of historic wooden and brick buildings. The alleyway feels like an escape from busy Main Street, but, on the other hand, is not bereft of anything to do. The Main Streets Market and Cafe offers "sides" in the alleyway that perfectly complement its dining room on Main St.: burritos, pizza, hot dogs, sandwiches, smoothies and ice cream. Benches, tables and a picnic area make for a pleasant, quiet outdoor dining experience. What a pleasant break in the action -- so close to all activities yet seemingly in its own world. I know for us, this destination is right up our "alley!" The
"alleyway" is located directly next to the Main Streets Market and Cafe
at 42 Main Street in Concord Related
