Sandwich, Mass., Makes for a Tasty Cape Cod Summer Travel Destination

A famous Sandwich travel attraction is is the Sandwich Glass Museum (129 Main St., Tel. 508-888-0251) with displays of more than 5,000 glass pieces created by the different glass companies in Sandwich during the 19th and 20th centuries.  

Also be sure to check out the family-owned and operated Ice Cream Sandwich at 66 Route 6A for some delicious homemade ice cream. The cleverly-named Ice Cream Sandwich has been a local favorite since 1982 and features special flavors like "cranberry bog," "strawberry cheesecake," and "fresh peach."

Without traveling too far into the elongated Cape Cod, Sandwich offers the best of what this region has to offer, whether on land or water. It's one of our favorite Cape Cod towns as this authentic community has not morphed into an overcommercialized, hyped-up tourist destination. That's a good thing for those in search of the "real Cape Cod!"
