Have you ever been on vacation and been inspired by a sunrise at the ocean, the mountains or some other scenic backdrop?
That memory can last days, months, even years as a memoir of peace, solitude and scenery. And while we don’t have the ocean or mountains here in Walpole, the chance to witness a memorable sunrise at several areas in town is quite possible.
I regard Willett Pond as offering some of the best sunrises in Walpole and, for that matter, in the southwest of Boston suburbs (Lake Massapoag in Sharon probably ranks first). Here is a Willett Pond scene that I enjoyed on Brook St.

Yes, for many of us it’s a struggle waking up very early but the rewards are priceless. This is especially important now as we societally face isolation, depression and overall stress during the COVID-19 public health crisis. What a nice way to renew and refresh the soul at the beginning of a new day!
Perhaps American physician, philosopher and author Debasish Mridha said it best about sunrises…
Every sunrise is a poem written on the earth with words of light, warmth, and love.
