VIsiting one of the most spectacular homes in New England.

This one-of-a-kind house was built by architect Horace Trumbauer in 1901, modeled after the mid-18th century French chateau d’Asnieres (c.1750) outside Paris, France.

With 60,000 sq. ft. of living space and 48 rooms including a grand ballroom, library and conservatory situated on 10 lush, perfectly landscaped acres, this is one spectacular mansion.

It’s hard to believe the residence started out as a “summer cottage” for coal baron Edward Julius Berwind! To illustrate the enormity of the mansion and his lifestyle, he once employed 40 servants who resided on the 16-room third floor.

Today, the home is a major tourist attraction, as well as being listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
