If you’re looking for affordable dining deal at an upscale “date night” restaurant in the Ogunquit, Maine, area, here’s an excellent bargain we have found…

in Cape Neddick, Maine, is, at this writing, offering through Restaurant.com a $25 certificate for $10. This wonderful restaurant — located in the country but within close proximity to the  Perkins Cove, Marginal Way and other famous Ogunquit coastal attractions — is one of our all-time favorite New England restaurants serving amazingly fresh, often locally sourced foods served within a beautiful, romantic, relaxing, sprawling farmhouse setting. Through the years, we have especially loved the lobster bisque, roasted duckling, grilled salmon, prime rib, rack of lamb, mixed green salads, and chocolate creme brulee for dessert. The menu does change, reflective of the chef’s tastes and inspirations — as well as well as the seasons — but it’s all good!

One of the pitfalls of some upscale restaurants is that the service can be stuffy and the presentation full of annoying pretension, but not at Clay Hill Farm. We’ve found the service to be professional but with a salt-of-the-earth, friendly touch — and with meal servings that are generous in portions. So, none of that small-portions-equals-fine-food-concept nonsense here!

The live piano music adds an additional romantic, soothing element to the overall dining experience. Surrounded on the outside by rolling lawns, colorful gardens and protected woodlands, Clay Hill Farm is also a wildlife habitat and bird sanctuary! We love the feeling that you’ve made your own special discovery at this relatively hidden rural location, helping make the overall experience at Clay Hill Farm that much more memorable.
