We just read on Rose’s Berry Farm’s Twitter page the following about berry picking: “Today (Aug. 17) we are open for pick your own BLUEBERRIES (Elliots) and RASPBERRIES until 5 p.m. The last truck heads out to the fields at 4:30 p.m.!”
If you haven’t been berry picking, we, at The Thrifty New England Traveler, wholeheartedly recommend this great activity. It’s generally a low-cost attraction, and there’s nothing quite like getting out in the farm fields, enjoying the fresh air, and picking fruit to take home to enjoy.
Rose’s Berry Farm is located at 295 Matson Hill Rd., South Glastonbury, Conn.
We suggest calling Rose’s at 860-633-7467 before embarking on your trip there, just in case conditions change.
