Is there such a thing as cheap airfare these days? Many people I’ve talked with lately don’t seem to think so.

The conversation about the expense of taking a plane has personally taken flight more than a few times recently. Knowing so many people that have to fly on planes for business or personal travel, I decided to do a little research to find out if there was any way to save money through discounted airline tickets. Not just a little money, but a lot because, say, a family of four riding the skies can really add up.

I did come up with a nice resource called Airfare.com that allows you to save up to 70% off published airfares on major airlines. Airfare.com states that they have 14 million airfares on major airlines on national and international travel, as well as offering discounted hotel stays. It appears that they are able to offer these cheap flights by buying in bulk and through negotiation with those major airlines..
