Big Hits Y100.9 WYNZ FM, out of  South Portland, Maine, is one of New England’s best run radio stations. With local radio icon Chuck Igo and a staff of other supremely talented personalities playing the “biggest hits of all time,” it’s refreshing to hear old-school radio alive and kicking in an otherwise often-heard, paint-by-numbers, assembly-line generic radio world.

Y100.9 has started another “greatest hits,” format of sorts, with its online “Trips On a Tankful,” highlighting some of Maine’s (and neighboring New Hampshire’s) best and most affordable travel destinations, according to  Y100.9  staff. Covering topics like favorite hidden travel gems, beaches, picnic spots, communities with downtown charm, rainy day destinations, scenic drives, all-time favorite day trips and places to take out-of-towners, this is a fun and informative read that I highly recommend. The Y100.9 personalities certainly bring out a lot of Maine’s personality in this travel piece!
