Biking Through A Classic, Scenic Vermont Town

Share this New England story on

If you love biking and scenery, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better destination than the free Recreation Path in Stowe, Vt.

This well-maintained 5.3-mile paved bike path starts in Stowe Village, and meanders through some beautiful forests and meadows — and scenic river crossings over arched bridges. You’ll feel in touch with the innate natural beauty of Vermont throughout the bike trail but as an added attraction, shops and restaurants are easily accessible from the path.

We recommend fall as the best time to bike the path as Stowe is known for its traditionally great foliage. Enjoy the colors, a little exercise and a whole lot of scenic Vermont!
