If you enjoy easy hikes and amazing scenic views but don’t want to stray too far from the Boston area, Noon Hill in Medfield, Mass., peaks as a fantastic destination.
A quick 30-minute hike on well-marked trails in a dense wooded setting ultimately gives way at 370 ft. to stunning views of rolling hills and open land in Walpole and Norfolk. Add a little foliage color in the fall and the scene looks more like Vermont than the suburbs between Boston and Providence, R.I. Noon Hill also features a path that meanders around beautiful Holt Pond as well as views of the Charles River — yes, that’s the same Charles River that we know so well in Boston and Cambridge! This special Trustees land links to the Bay Circuit Trail — extending through 34 towns in eastern Massachusetts — thus offering additional scenic splendor.
Noon Hill is the second Trustees of Reservations property that I have fallen in love with in the past week — the first being World’s End in Hingham. We can hardly wait to explore more of these publicly accessible lands that the Trustees have saved from potential development!
Admission is free. Noon Hill is located on Noon Hill Rd., just off Causeway St. in Medfield. For more information, log onto The Trustees Noon Hill page.
