The metro Boston area has seen some incredible commercial and residential growth over the past 20 years, but the chance to find open, natural recreation spaces is still clearly evident in and around the “Hub of the Universe.” Right now with the wintry season well upon us (a virtual blizzard as I write this), such a place is the Weston Ski Track in Weston, Mass. About 20 minutes west of Boston, the Weston Ski Track at the Leo J. Martin Golf Course offers tremendous cross country and snowshoeing opportunities, which includes 15 km of trails and a two km lighted loop. Best of all, the prices are quite reasonable, making this a good choice for a budget-friendly day out.
