Nantasket Beach in Hull, Mass., is best known for the former Paragon Park, a wonderful amusement park that lasted the better part of the 20th century. Sadly, those glory days are gone, but the good news is that the two-mile stretch of sandy beach remains the same. It’s a great place to enjoy an ocean beach day in the summer and as a wonderful walking destination on good weather days in the fall, winter and spring. This amount of open beach is quite unusual for a spot 30 minutes from Boston, so the crowds really gather on those lazy, hazy summer days. Hull is also making somewhat of a comeback with more shops, restaurants and lodging, as well as keeping the restored 1928 Paragon Carousel intact and operating during the warmer season. Our favorite restaurant: Jake’s Seafood overlooking the water.
Although Hull is a little bit rough and tumble, visiting here is certainly recommended. Nantasket is definitely one of New England’s great ocean beaches! Book a room at Nantasket Beach at the lowest available rate
